(Des Moines, IA) -- A historic movie theater is reopening in Des Moines.
The Varsity Cinema, which closed in 2018, is opening its doors on December 15 following a $5 million restoration project.
The arthouse theater features a variety of programming, including new releases, cult classics, and international films. Its opening weekend will feature showings of “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Lost Cinemas of Greater Des Moines,” “Decision to Leave,” “White Noise,” and “Elf.”
