(Fort Dodge, IA) -- Fort Dodge police have arrested a mother and her boyfriend in the death of a newborn baby.
24-year-old Taylor Blaha and 31-year-old Brandon Thoma are facing first-degree murder charges. Thoma is also accused of abusing the corpse.
The investigation started on November 22nd after police got a tip that a woman gave birth in the home, the baby died and was moved to a new location. The Fort Dodge Police Department says Blaha and Thoma were arrested following lab results and witness interviews. The two are being held on around $1 million cash bond.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the newborn's body. 14 agencies are working on the investigation.
