(Iowa County, IA) -- There are multiple injuries after an explosion and fire around 11:30 this (Thursday) morning at a bio-fuels facility on the eastern edge of Marengo, Iowa. The Iowa County Sheriff's Office is asking residents to avoid the area. Iowa's News Now reports those injured were taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The Iowa County Sheriff's Office says some homes nearby have been evacuated, others are being asked to remain indoors.

Iowa State Patrol Trooper Bob Conrad says there were 30-people in the plant when the explosion happened. Injuries range from none at all, to minor, to more serious.
Conrad also says crews are on scene conducting environmental testing.
Marengo is 32-miles southwest of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
