(Davenport, IA) -- Davenport Police says a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car Tuesday evening.
Police say the incident happened a little after 5:30pm near East Locust Street and Bridge Avenue. Investigators say an SUV hit a pedestrian who was walking along the road. The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious condition and later died of her injuries. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released, though investigators have confirmed the victim to be a 39 year-old female.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
