(Iowa City, IA) -- The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has new visitor screenings and restrictions. The hospital made the changes due to rising RSV, COVID, and flu cases.

For adult patients (18+)
Inpatient
- Two visitor/support person is allowed per patient per day.
- Visiting hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Surgical and procedural patients:
- Two visitor/support person is allowed per patient per day.
Outpatients
- Two visitors/support persons are allowed for patients aged 18–21.
- One visitor/support person is allowed for patients aged 22–64.
- Two visitors/support persons are allowed for patients aged 65 and older.
- One visitor/support person is allowed for prenatal appointments.
Emergency Department
- One visitor/support person per patient is allowed.
Labor and Delivery Unit
- Two visitors/support people plus birth support person/doula or partner (father/designee of baby) are allowed per patient.
For pediatric patients (age 0-17)
Inpatients
- Two visitors/support persons are allowed per patient per day.
- Visiting hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Only parents/ legal guardians may stay overnight.
- Visitors under the age of 18 are not permitted in the NICU and PICU/PCICU.
Surgical and procedural patients
- Two adult visitor/support persons are allowed per patient per day.
Outpatients
- Two adult visitors/support persons are allowed
- This includes newborn wellness visits (2 months of age or less).
