(Des Moines, IA) -- The number of students in Iowa out of school with flu symptoms continues to grow.
The Iowa Department of Human Services says 457 schools are reporting at least 10% of its students are out with illnesses - that's 180 more schools than last week.
Iowa schools report student absences on any day 10% or more of the student body is expected to be out sick.
Most cases are in Central Iowa with 154 schools reporting, and eastern Iowa with 144 schools reporting.
About 7.2% of total Iowa students were sick at home.
Iowa H-H-S says flu activity is high in the state as common colds, RSV, and COVID are also rising.
