DART Requests Feedback On Proposed Changes In Northern, West Des Moines

(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority is asking for feedback on proposed service changes for northern and West Des Moines.

In West Des Moines, a new DART On Demand transit zone would provide point-to-point trips within a designated zone near the mall. Changes to Local Route 72 would discontinue a portion of the route north of Jordan Creek Town Center, decreasing its frequency to every 70 minutes. Changes to Local Route 52 would replace travel along the interstate to cover the discontinued portion of Route 72.

In northern Des Moines, a new DART On Demand transit zone would provide point-to-point trips within a designated zone near River Bend.

Riders can fill out a survey online or pick up a paper survey at DART Central Station.

DART is also holding three meetings next month where people can share feedback:

  • January 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Forest Avenue Library
  • January 17 at noon via Zoom
  • January 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the West Des Moines Library

The proposed changes would go into effect next summer.
