(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines Police say the man identified as a material witness in a homicide earlier this month has been found dead.
Police say officers responded to reports of a body having been found in a garage on Tuesday in the 400 block of Fulton Drive and found a gun at the scene. Investigators identified the victim as Scott Lowery, who was wanted as a material witness in the death of Natasha Lue Jean Williams earlier this month. Police had been looking for Lowery since December 13th. His death is being investigated as a suicide. Natasha Lue Jean Williams was found dead on December 12th in a home in the 1600 block of Glenwood Drive after officers conducted a wellness check.
Williams' death was the city's 18th homicide of the year.
