No Contaminants Found in Iowa River Samples after Marengo Plant Explosion

(Iowa City, IA) -- The City of Iowa City says no contamination was found in water samples from the Iowa River following the C6-Zero plant explosion on December 8th in Marengo.

The Water Division of Iowa City says samples sent to the State Hygienic Laboratory showed no signed of chemicals such as a petroleum, gasoline, or diesel. The Water Division will continue to conduct weekly tests for the next three weeks to ensure water safety.
