(Des Moines, IA) -- The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines awards $420,000 in Leadership Grants for three projects. The foundation says funding goes toward projects aimed at bettering community needs. The grants went to:
- North Side Community Recreation Center: The Des Moines Parks and Recreation Foundation gets $250,000 for a new community center near the current Grubb YMCA.
Center at Sixth: A $150,000 grant will go toward developing a new community hub for the 6th Avenue neighborhood.
DART: The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority gets $20,000 to test a new DART On-Demand service within the 50314 zip code.
