(Des Moines, IA) -- Gas prices in Iowa are starting to creep up in the new year. Triple A says the statewide average is $3.01-- up 15 cents from last week.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in Iowa cost $3.03 a year ago.
The current average in Des Moines is $3.04 per gallon and $3.01 in Ames.
In eastern Iowa, the current average in Cedar Rapids is $3.03 per gallon and $3.08 in Iowa City.
In the Quad Cities, the current average in Davenport is $2.92 per gallon. Over on the Illinois side of the river, the average is $3.32 in Rock Island and Moline.
