(Des Moines, IA) -- A Waukee man is charged with attempted murder after being accused of beating a woman with a hammer. Police say Brian Huckfeldt beat the woman ten times at her home on East Dunham Avenue in Des Moines Tuesday afternoon, leaving her permanently disfigured. Police say the two know each other and the victim had told Huckfeldt not to come back to her home after a previous incident. Police say they found him with a hammer nearby after Tuesday's beating. In addition to attempted murder Huckfeldt is also charged with 1st-degree burglary, willful injury, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
