(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids Police say a suspect is under arrest after a stabbing.
Police say 33 year-old Michael Chevalier was taken into custody Thursday evening. Investigators say the stabbing happened around 12:15 Thursday morning. The victim was treated at the scene in the area of B Avenue NE and 29th Street NE. He was later taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Chavelier is facing the following charges:
- Attempt to Commit Murder
- Willful Injury Resulting in Serious Injury
- Going Armed with Intent
- Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon
- Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime
He's currently being held at the Linn County Jail.
