(Omaha, NE) -- An Omaha man accused of killing his grandmother and great-grandmother is granted a competency evaluation.

This week, a Douglas County judge ruled that 27 year old Gage Walter should undergo an evaluation by doctors to, "determine whether the defendant was insane at the time of the alleged crimes." Walter is accused of murdering his grandmother, 70-year-old Linda Walter, and great-grandmother, 93-year-old Marceline Teeters, at their south Omaha home in August 2022. Walter was arrested in Iowa the day after the murders following a standoff with police.
