(Rock Island, IL) -- A Rock Island woman is sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder.
Jimena Jinez pleaded guilty in October of last year to fatally stabbing Lyric Stewart on December 30th of 2020. Jinez was sentenced to 22 years in prison, but since she's already been in custody for 2 years, she'll spend the next 20 years finishing her sentence. Investigators say the fatal stabbing took place in the 1200 block of 11th Street in Rock Island.
