(Des Moines, IA) -- Classes are canceled at Des Moines Public Schools Tuesday, as the district is looking to address a "cyber security incident."
The district has been without internet for most of Monday, after IT staffers found some unusual activity on the district's network.
Earlier this morning, DMPS was alerted to a cyber security incident on its technology network. As a preemptive measure the school district’s internet and network services were taken offline as the matter is currently being investigated and assessed.
In a series of tweets, DMPS notes the needed services that are offline affects "many tech tools that support classroom learning as well as the management and operation of the school district."
Athletic events and other activities will take place as scheduled.
