More Concern Over Nebraska Radon Levels

A new report shows most Nebraskans live in parts of the state that have high and unhealthy levels of radon in homes and businesses.

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services report shows that 80 of Nebraska's 93 counties have radon levels higher than the number at which mitigation is recommended by the World Health Organization of the United Nations.

Radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S., and Nebraska is rated the third worst state for radon levels according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
