(Ames, IA) -- One person is in custody connected to a shooting at an Ames hotel. Police say 27-year-old Anthony G. Garner Jr., of Pine Hill, Alabama, has been arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury, Going armed with Intent, and possessing a dangerous weapon while intoxicated
Police say two victims were found at the Quality Inn & Suites on 2601 E. 13th Street around 11:30 a.m. on January 14. Both victims are being treated at local hospitals. Police say there are no updates on their status.
They say there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the public. They’re asking anyone with information about the incident to reach out.
