(West Des Moines, IA) -- Around 425 volunteers took some time yesterday to put together more than 150-thousand meals.
It's part of a Martin Luther King, Jr., Day packaging event at Meals From the Heartland.
One volunteer spent 6 hours of his day for the event, saying he wants to help make the world a better place to live.
The meals are going to local food banks to help hungry Iowans.
