(Iowa County, IA) -- There was some wild and unusual weather for January Monday afternoon in Eastern Iowa.
Severe storms spawned tornados in Iowa County.
The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities confirmed a tornado touched down near Williamsburg then lifted around 2:20 p.m. Iowa County Emergency Management reports a semi and a passenger car were blown over on I-80 at mile marker 223, near Williamsburg. Tree and farm building damage is reported in the area. No injuries are reported.
A funnel cloud was reported in Jones County. A storm spotter reported nickel to quarter size hail covering the ground in Iowa County.
Storms prompted tornado warnings for Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, and Linn counties. A second, weak tornado is confirmed near the town of Army, near Cedar Rapids.
Several locations reported pea-size to ping-pong ball size hail.
