Central Nebraska Sees Two Feet of Snow, Much Less in Omaha

OMAHA, Nebraska -- A winter storm that leaves close to two feet of snow in Central and North Central Nebraska brings just an inch or two in the Omaha metro area.

The National Weather Service says Eppley Airfield reports about an inch of snow at midnight, while Millard sees two inches. There's and inch-and-a-half of snow in Gretna and Elkhorn. Lincoln gets just over an inch of snow.

It's a much different story in Central and South-Central Nebraska where some places are seeing close to two feet of snow. The Weather Service says Merna has nearly 24 inches of snow, with 23 inches in Callaway, and Broken Bow sees 19 inches of snow. Closer to I-80, which was closed for a time by snow, Kearney and Grand Island have 10 inches, 14 in Wood River.

Lots of snow also in Western Nebraska, with North Platte getting 13 inches, 12 inches in Ogallala and Sidney. In the Panhandle, Harrisburg gets 18 inches of snow
