LawnStarter ranked 152 cities across the country in terms of cleanliness. The study considered factors including air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, homes with signs of mice or rats, and more. According to the nationwide survey, the top 5 cleanest cities include:

- Norfolk, VA

- Fremont, CA
The top five dirtiest cities in the country include:
- Houston, TX
- Newark, NJ
- San Bernadino, CA
