(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Cedar Rapids Fire Department says one person is dead after a fire at a hotel in southwest Cedar Rapids.
The fire was reported around 4:20 Wednesday afternoon at the Rodeway Inn at 4011 16th Avenue Southwest. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from a single room and an adult male dead inside. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and put it out quickly without causing much additional damage to the hotel.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
