(Marengo, IA) -- The Marengo plant, where 15 people were hurt in a December 2022 explosion and fire, has missed a deadline ahead of a court hearing next week.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources set a January 29 deadline for C6-Zero, the company operating the plant, to submit a report, including a list of chemicals used in the plant, cleanup efforts, etc.
C6-Zero missing the deadline comes ahead of a court hearing Monday, where the State of Iowa will learn if a judge will force the company to follow an inspection order from the DNR. The state says C6-Zero lawyers have turned DNR staff away from the site, saying there's nothing to be inspected.
