(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids Police have arrested 21-year old Paris Diamond in connection with the homicide investigation of Mohamed Tawfik, January 8, 2023.
The United States Marshal's Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force located Diamond in Cedar Rapids and arrested him on outstanding warrants for:
- Murder 1st Degree
- Robbery 1st Degree
- Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon
- Going Armed with Intent
Diamond was taken into custody and transported to the Linn County Jail.
Police were called to the 55-hundred block of Kirkwood Blvd SW at 7:22 p.m. January 8th, after a report of someone being shot. Officers found a vehicle off the road in the 56-hundred block with an unresponsive male driver who appeared to have been shot. The man, Mohamed Tawfik was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
