(Des Moines, IA) -- A Des Moines photographer is being flown back after suffering a medical emergency in Mexico.
Rodney White's wife, Tina, says he was in Cancun on a work trip when she received several strange messages from him. Tina called him to ask if he was okay, and he said "no." He was later taken by ambulance to a local hospital that would not accept his travel or health insurance and would not see him unless he paid $16,000. Tina White says her husband's employer agreed to cover all his expenses in Cancun, but she's ultimately working to have Rodney flown back to Des Moines for medical care.
White says to do so will cost around $42,000. Tina's brother set up a Go Fund Me page to help the family cover expenses.
