Iowa Drought Conditions Improve Slightly

(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa's drought conditions are improving slightly.

This week's National Drought Monitor Map shows 80 percent of the state in drought or abnormally dry conditions--down from 83 percent last week.

The driest part of Iowa continues to be the northwest corner of the state, with severe, extreme, and exceptional drought conditions.

This week's map does not take into account any rain or snow that fell after Tuesday.
