(Ankeny, IA) -- The Ankeny Community School District names its upcoming elementary school.
Abbie Grove Elementary is named for its location on Northwest Abbie Drive in The Grove development.
“The name of the school is a nod to the past, but there is no doubt that opening a new elementary school is a sign of a continued bright future in Ankeny,” Superintendent Dr. Erick Pruitt said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming students, families, and staff into this building for the 2024-2025 school year.”
Abbie Grove Elementary will serve kindergarten through fifth grade and has a capacity of up to 800 students. It will be the sixth elementary school in the north feeder for the district.
