The Omaha office of the National Weather Service says a major winter storm will move through the Northern Plains Wednesday and Thursday.
Heavy snow and blizzard or near blizzard conditions are forecast in northeast Nebraska, and travelers going north on Interstate 29 on the Iowa side will run into hazardous or impossible travel conditions.
They say the impacts will not be as bad along the Interstate 80 corridor in eastern Nebraska, but a mix of ice and snow may still be problematic.
