(Undated) -- Iowa has some of the highest property taxes in the country. That's according to WalletHub, which puts Iowa at 10th-highest when comparing real-estate and vehicle property taxes. WalletHub says Iowa's effective real-estate tax rate is 1.57%. WalletHub says the state with the highest property taxes is New Jersey and the state with the lowest is Hawaii.
