(Marion, IA) -- The Marion City Council is considering installing traffic cameras due to a shortage of police officers.
The city council is considering putting cameras at the intersections of Highways 13 and 151 as well as Highway 100 and East Post Road. The city says research shows that traffic cameras lead to a reduction of crashes when implemented.
A formal proposal has yet to be made, but the Marion City Council has been researching the idea for almost two years.
