(Illinois) -- A bill that would allow public restrooms to be designated as gender-neutral is moving through the Illinois legislature.
The bill passed out a House committee this week and is now up for consideration by the full House. The bill would allow restaurants, hotels, and other public places to create multi-stall, gender-neutral restrooms. Such restrooms would have to be clearly marked, stalls inside would have to have a functioning locking door, and urinals would have to be separated by dividers.
The bill would not require facilities to make their restrooms gender-neutral.
