(Johnston, IA) -- The Johnston City Council approves a plan to move forward with the renovation of the Crown Point tennis courts.
The Crown Point tennis courts were built in the early 1980s, but their condition has deteriorated over time. Johnston's Parks and Recreation Department says it has received requests from community members to add pickleball courts to the facility. The Johnston City Council approved a plan to renovate the facility at its meeting on February 21st. The approved plan will create two tennis courts, four pickleball courts, and a sitting area for viewing. Construction is scheduled to begin this spring and be completed by October.
More information on the project is available on the City of Johnston's website.
