Hundreds Protest Anti-LGBTQ Legislation At Iowa Capitol

(Des Moines, IA) -- Hundreds of Iowans took to the state capitol yesterday to protest bills targeting LGBTQ rights.

The Rally to Resist was sponsored by dozens of Iowa organizations.

State lawmakers are considering bills that would ban gender-transitioning medical procedures for minors and prevent educators from teaching K-6 students about sex and gender identity.

A bill that would same-sex marriage in the state did not meet the funnel deadline Friday.
