(Davenport, IA) -- The city of Davenport is moving forward with plans to build a historic bridge on the city's east side.

The city is planning to use $1.5 million dollars in grants to rebuild the 13th Street bridge between Mound and Kuehl Streets. The bridge has been closed since 2018 due to safety concerns. Davenport city aldermen approved the grant funds from the Iowa Department of Transportation at the city council meeting on March 8th.
