(Des Moines, IA) -- The first Spring Cleanup to Reduce Urban Blight (SCRUB) event of the year is coming up.
On March 18, Des Moines residents can dispose of appliances, yard waste, and other large items at no cost. Appliances, trash, and bulk items can be dropped off at the Metro Transfer Station (4198 Delaware Avenue). Yard waste and tree debris can be dropped off at the Metro Compost Center (1601 Harriett Street).
The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
