Omaha Fire Investigators say the fire in the southeast part of the city was accidental in nature: improperly discarded smoking materials.
There were no injuries in the Wednesday fire in the six a.m. hour in a house near 5th and Bancroft Streets.
Arriving firefighters reported smoke and fire coming from the rear of the place.
Two adults and three children were displaced due to the fire damage, and the Red Cross was on location to assist.
