(Poweshiek County, IA) -- The Iowa State Patrol is releasing the identity of the woman killed Monday in a Poweshiek County crash.
The ISP says 74 year-old Mary Cowan was killed in a crash after failing to stop at the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 6. Investigators say Cowan's vehicle hit a trailer being pulled by a truck on Highway 6. The crash caused the trailer to go into a ditch, where it was hit by a semi that also hit Cowan's vehicle, which caught fire. Cowan was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
