(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is joining three other states in asking the Environmental Protection Agency to issue an emergency waiver for ethanol sales.

The letter sent to the EPA Tuesday was signed by the governors of Nebraska, Minnesota, and South Dakota.

Governor Reynolds says the original request for year-round sales was filed in April last year, but the EPA missed the deadline to sign it into law which she says could cause gas prices to spike over the summer.
