(Pleasantville, IA) -- The National Weather Service rates the tornado that touched down in central Iowa Tuesday night as an EF-1.
The tornado began in eastern Warren County, then traveled 15 miles, and ended in western Marion County, 30 miles south of Des Moines. It hit peak winds of 110 miles an hour.
The NWS says no injuries were reported, but homes, buildings, and farm equipment were damaged.
Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for both counties.
