(Ankeny, IA) -- One person is dead after crashing their car into a home in Ankeny around 1:40 a.m. on Saturday.
The Ankeny Police and Fire Departments arrived at 803 NW 32nd Street and found the car in the basement, fully engulfed in flames. Police say the residents of the home were able to get out safely, but the driver did not. They say it's unclear whether there were any other passengers in the car.
The cause of the crash and fire remain under investigation.
The driver's identity will be released after their family is notified.
