The investigation continues this morning and two firefighters recover from minor injuries after a three alarm fire at a vacant northwest Omaha apartment complex.
The fire was Monday afternoon at the Legacy Crossing Apartments near 105th and Fort Streets, and firefighters have been keeping an eye out for hotspots rekindling in the debris.
The fire caused a roof collapse.
A representative at the property orginally saw smoke coming from a building and called 911.
The apartment complex has been vacant since December because of severe code violations that caused the city to step in and shutter the complex.
The Fire Department notes there is evidence of squatters having been in the building.
