Storms Bring Rain, Hail in Central Iowa Wednesday Morning, More Expected

(Des Moines, IA) -- Hail and lightning were reported in central Iowa Wednesday morning as a round of thunderstorms moved through the area.

The National Weather Service says there's another chance for storms again Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Most of central and southwest Iowa is under an increased risk for storms, and the National Weather Service says the primary threats include large hail and strong winds. NWS says there is also a possibility for isolated tornadoes. The strongest storms are expected in west central and southwestern Iowa.
