(West Des Moines, IA) -- Women and girls from several Midwestern states will converge at MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex in West Des Moines Saturday, April 22 for a strength initiative.
The 2023 Women's Barbell Classic strength competition will have participants ranging in age from 8 to 72.
It's a push/pull powerlifting meet, including the bench press and deadlift.
This year, competitors are coming from Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin.
The Women's Barbell Classic first started in 2018.
