(Iowa) -- A new national study ranks Iowa among the top five most dangerous states for crashes involving large trucks.
Transportation services website Simplex says according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Iowa is the fourth most dangerous state in the country for drivers of large trucks. Research from the NHTSA says large trucks were involved in a little over 14 percent of all life-threatening crashes in the state over the last year. The study found 67 out of the 467 life-threatening crashes in Iowa involved large trucks over the 12 months of the study.
According to the national study the top five most dangerous states for large truck crashes include:
- Wyoming
- Idaho
- Nebraska
- Iowa
- North Dakota
