(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Police have made another arrest in a Cedar Rapids homicide. Police say 15-year-old Baynon Berry is charged with 1st Degree Murder, in the death of 16-year-old Michael McCune, on February 18th in NW Cedar Rapids. He is also facing charges of Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony, Going Armed with Intent, and a Probation Violation.
Police earlier arrested 15-year-old Dante Irvin and 16-year-old Tramontez Lockett on March 23rd. Irvin is charged with murder, Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony, & Going Armed with Intent.
Lockette is charged with First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony, Aiding and Abetting First Degree Theft, and Going Armed with Intent.
Police were called to the 1600 block of F Avenue NW at 11:42 a.m. on February 18, 2023 after multiple calls about shots fired. Officers arrived and found a teen male with gunshot wounds, he died on scene. Detectives at the time said the teen had been the victim of a targeted shooting.
