Second Suspect In Des Moines Post Prom Shooting Found In Davenport

(Des Moines, IA) -- A second suspect in a post-post party shooting in Des Moines has been taken into custody. Des Moines Police say 20-year-old Jaren Rhoden was found in Davenport. Rhoden and 19-year-old Terrance Johnson-Rawls are charged with Intimidation With A Dangerous Weapon, stemming from a shooting last year that injured three teens. Johnson-Rawls has been in custody on an unrelated weapons charge.

Police were called to a home south of Grand Avenue on May 8, 2022 after a shooting that investigators say happened after two uninvited guests showed up at a post-prom party.

Police say 53-year-old Des Moines resident Jeffery Stickel has been charged with Disorderly House– Des Moines Municipal Ordinance Violation. Detectives learned that Stickel hosted the post-prom party, and persons under the legal age who were drinking alcohol had brought it to the party to consume there. Stickel was cited and released.
