(Omaha, NE) -- An Omaha man is charged with attacking his mother.
The Omaha Police Department says 22-year-old Devin Murphy stabbed 46-year-old Melissa Murphy in the head around 12:34 a.m. on April 29.
Police dispatch audio says the caller watched the stabbing through a security camera. They told police the suspect was standing over a woman who appeared to get stabbed in the eye. They also said the suspect appeared to be crying.
Police say Melissa's injury is potentially life-threatening, but she's in stable condition.
Devin is charged with one count of first-degree assault and use of a weapon – not gun to commit a felony. He’s being held at the Douglas County Correctional Center.
