(Moline, IL) -- Heavy thunderstorms with large hail across the region Sunday leave cars and homes damaged. Baseball-size hail was reported in Poweshiek County, east of Des Moines. Tennis ball size hail damaged homes in Adair County, west of Des Moines.
In the Quad Cities, ping pong ball size hail and 70 mile an hour winds leave damage and power outages. Both Alliant Energy and MidAmerican Energy report scattered power outages in Moline, Rock Island, Davenport, and Muscatine after the storms.
A woman was struck by lightning in Cedar Rapids as the storms moved into the area. Damage to power lines and streetlights is reported there.
