(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines Police say two officers prevented a man from jumping off a bridge near downtown Des Moines last week.
Police say officers Tim Morgan and Destiny McGinnis pulled over after they saw an SUV parked on the bridge and two men outside the vehicle who appeared to be arguing. Not long after the two officers arrived, one of the men began climbing over the railing. The two officers and the other man at the scene were able to prevent the man from jumping into the river and pulled him back onto the sidewalk. Police say the man later said he had lost his mother about a year ago and was suicidal.
